Does spot putty need primer?
If you apply body filler directly to the paint, it will crack after a while. Note: I’ve been getting a lot of emails from people asking if they need to spray the metal with primer before applying filler to prevent rust. You do not need to apply primer.

How soon can I paint putty?
I leave to skin over for around 5-6 days then u/coat with an oil based paint. Over the summer I had success with Repair Care acrylic putty system, good but expensive at around £10 per tube although goes a long way and a great time saver as can be painted after a couple of hours.
Can you put spot putty over bare metal?
Putty, like paint, adheres better and stays intact when applied to bare metal. So make sure you completely remove all oil, grime, solvent, rust, and paint from the surface. Before using auto putty be sure to use a Scotch-Brite pad to scuff the surface of primed metal to give the putty something to adhere to.
Can you wet sand glazing putty?
Yes, starting with a more coarse grit helps get the surface level more quickly but the dry guide coat works with any grit. If I had some small spots like that I would hit them with some spray bomb etch. Then a light wetsanding to blend it in.
How do you use Everglaze spot putty?
PREPARATION: Use 180 grit or finer to prepare surface. APPLICATION: Using a flexible putty knife or plastic spreader, apply material in several thin coats. Work quickly to prevent material from rolling due to fast drying. Allow a five minute dry time between coats.
