Is AC Pro safe?
The refrigerant contains special anti-wear additives that can extend a systems life and improve results. AC Pro also contains a safe leak sealer that stops most common air conditioning leaks in hoses, gaskets, and O-rings that may have caused the problem in the first place.
Is using AC Pro bad for your car?
The delicate components of your car’s A/C compressor and other aspects of the system can sustain damage from the stop leak included in most DIY A/C recharge kits. In order to plug up small leaks in the system that may have leaked refrigerant, a stop leak compound is included in these kits.
How long does it take for AC Pro to kick in?
All in, prepping, measuring, and recharging the system took me about 30 minutes. However, the Corolla’s pressure levels were exceptionally low and I took more time than I probably needed to measure air temperatures and take photos, so it’s still a fairly quick fix.
When should you not use AC Pro?
Don’t use A/C Pro if:
- Your car was built before 1994 and has never been converted from R-12 to R-134a.
- You drive a hybrid or electric car.
- It took less than two weeks for your A/C to go from cold to hot.
- Your compressor is running, but the A/C pressure is too high.
- You’ve already added A/C Pro.
What happens if you put too much AC Pro in your car?
If the AC system is overcharged, the change from liquid to gas cannot happen, so the compressor starts producing liquid coolant instead of gas. It now has to work extremely hard to pump the excess coolant through the lines. The result is a noisy or broken compressor.
Can you recharge AC yourself?
You’ve likely run low on refrigerant in your A/C system. Over time, tiny amounts of refrigerant leak from the lines, degrading A/C performance. Recharging your air conditioner yourself is inexpensive and can be completed in just a few minutes.
Does AC Pro make your AC colder?
Here’s the scenario: you recharge your system with A/C Pro and it works, making your air conditioner ice-cold. However, if your car’s air conditioner is blowing hot air because it’s low on R-134a refrigerant, and it’s taken at least two weeks to get that way, A/C Pro can fix your problem and save you time and money.
